Spotted at ARS.Technica: Mircosoft has just released the beta version of their AntiSpyware utility for all and sundry to test out. You can grab a copy of it from here.

This follows on from Microsoft's acquasition of Giant Company Software late last year.

Only things it reported on my system were Pcap (Windows Packet Capturing driver - used for ethereal), and the Google Toolbar bit that uploads traffic details. With a bit of ironing out, this thing looks like it'll be cool.

And this is the first app I have seen that uses the new Windows Validation routine - expect to see more and more of this from Microsoft.
